2010 is coming to a close and I'm tossing my hat into the "Best of" lists going around everywhere. It's been a great year in toys and it's hard to pick out my favorite action figures out of so many released this year. I would estimate that I purchased close to 200 figures in 2010 and that's not even all the figures I WANTED!
For the sake of this list, I'm only considering the figures I did acquire and only the ones released in 2010. So without further a do, here is 3B's list of the 10 best action figures of 2010!

Ghostbusters II Box Set - Review
Just in time for the holidays and serving as a big "F-you" to Ghostbusters fans who had been torturously collecting the original movie team via www.mattycollector.com for over a year, Mattel unleashed this box set of the four 'busters in their dark grey uniforms from Ghostbusters 2. Let's see if this slap in the face turned out to be a great addition to your GB collection.

Stinger Shots: King Grayskull (reissue)
Well, it's the home stretch before Christmas and I think today's installment of "Stinger Shots" is appropriate for the occasion. We're taking a look at the reissued King Grayskull from the Masters of the Universe Classics line and he's sporting a barbarian Santa Claus motif just in time for Christmas!

Justice League of America, Amazo - Review
Back in October I posted an update about a recent trip to Tate's Comics in Sunrise, FL. There I managed to haul several action figures that I wanted and this Amazo was one of them. Let's find out what he's about and how he meshes with my preferred DC figure line, DC Universe Classics!

WWE Elite, Matt Hardy (Series 6) - Review
Matt Hardy has the distinct honor of being the first (and only) Elite series 6 figure I've purchased. Not just that, he's the only E6 figure I've seen on the pegs! Kind of sad when you consider that up until now, my local Targets and Kmarts have stocked up on WWE Elite figures as soon as they start hitting in other parts of the country. However, Elite 6 and Legends 3 have been MIA, that is until I found Hardy. Let's see how his second entry in the line turned out!

WWE Knee Pad Mods - Custom
Mattel's been doing a great job with their new WWE figures, but that doesn't mean they always deliver a flawless product. While they focus on small details specific to each wrestler, some things have to be reused in order to keep costs down. Today's edition of "Customs" focuses on the different styles of knee pads used throughout the various WWE lines and how some figures look much better by simply swapping pads with other figures.

Ghostbusters, Peter Venkman - Review
"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."
Finally, we have the complete, unslimed, Ghostbusters team from the original film. For some collectors this has been an over year-long wait, but for others (like me) it's been 25+ years in the making. And now after all the frustration and agony of the wait, I can gaze upon my display shelf and see my favorite team of paranormal exterminators together for the first time in plastic with the arrival of Peter Venkman!

James Cameron's Avatar, Jake Sully - Review
Today marks the release of James Cameron's Avatar Extended Collector's Edition on Blu-Ray and DVD, so I figured it was a great time to review this figure from Mattel's Movie Masters line. You may remember I reviewed Neytiri a couple of months back. Let's take a look at her boyfriend, who helped the evil RDA corporation destroy home tree and later redeemed himself, Jake Sully.

The Buzz: November Matty Sale
Here we are again. A new month, a new sale on MattyCollector.com. I skipped out on the sale last month because I couldn't bring myself to buy a screwed up figure, even if it was Roboto who I really wanted. Thankfully, no flaws have been announced with this month's releases.
I'm going after King Grayskull, Weapons Pak #2 and Peter Venkman. Hopefully, I'll get them all with just a moderate pain in the testicles.
Good luck!

WWE Entrance Greats, The Rock - Review
"Finally! The Rock has come back to Miami!"
This is the first "The Rock" figure I pick up from Mattel's WWE toy lines. The figure comes to us from the "deluxe" WWE Entrance Greats series and recreates his entrance at the 1999 Royal Rumble. Is this figure worth the price of admission or just filler until you can find WWE Legends Series 3's the Rock?

Hive News: November is here!
Hi, everybody! Just checking to let you know I'm still alive and to tell you about new stuff coming down the 'pike. It's been really busy outside of the Hive lately, so I'm trying to get back into a schedule of doing write-ups and my favorite, comics! But it hasn't been easy. Also, I've been on several toy hunts lately thanks to Kmart's recent sale on DCUC figures and a massive sale last weekend at one of South Florida's largest comic/specialty shops, Tate's, which is a good 45min drive from where I live.

WWE Elite, Big Show (Series 4) - Review
"WEEEELLLL! Well, it's the Big Show!"
Originally I wanted to have a "Monster Week" leading up to Halloween on Sunday, alá Toy A Day's "Monster October", but that plan crumbled due to several set-backs. However, I still wanted to knockout a couple of "monster"-related reviews, and today's fits into that category, albeit loosely. Now, you may say "3B, the Big Show's not a monster." and to that I will reply, "Oh, yes, he is! He's a monster of a man at well over 7 feet tall! That qualifies as a monster to me. Now sit back and read the review or Show will eat your kids!"

Swamp Thing, Anton Arcane - Review
Hey guys, it's Novelty from Toy a Day, buzzing by to put up this review here, since it's almost insect related. OK, a spider isn't really an insect, but it's close enough. The said spider comes with Anton Arcane of Kenner's Swamp Thing line of 1990 and I opened it today as part of Swamp Thing week of Monster October at Toy a Day. Swarm in to read more!

The Buzz: Superhero Movie News
A few interesting news items related to Green Lantern, Spider-man and Superman!
First up, the official site for Warner Bros. Pictures' Green Lantern has gone live with a teaser of what else? A Green Lantern logo! Not much right now, but I'm sure things will start to pick up during the Thanksgiving holiday week. Check it out here.
In Spider-man reboot news, Emma Stone has been chosen to play Gwen Stacy in the upcoming film directed by Mark Webb and starring Andrew Garfield as the web-head.
And finally, and probably hugest of recent news, Zack Snyder, director of "300", "Watchmen", and the upcoming "SuckerPunch", has been tapped to direct the new Superman reboot, tentatively titled: "Superman: The Man of Steel". If you don't already know, Christopher Nolan (Memento, Insomnia) is producing the film with a script by his brother and "Inception" co-writer, Jonathan and "Batman Begins/The Dark Knight" collaborator, David S Goyer (Blade Trilogy). Also, General Zod was confirmed to be the main villain in the film.
I'm very excited about the Green Lantern film and look forward to Snyder's take on Superman. I couldn't really care less for the Spider-man reboot, but Emma Stone was highly entertaining in "SuperBad" and "Zombieland", two of the funniest/awesomest films ever! So we'll see...
For more, timlier information on these and other comic-related films, check out Superherohype.com and Blastr.com

Ghostbusters, Egon Spengler - Review
Ghostbusters fans rejoice! We finally have the complete team in uniform! Actually, Peter is still slimed... and if you already had the SDCC Egon, then you finished your team with the June release of Venkman. So if you're like me, you're still waiting for Peter's November release, too.
Forget rejoicing... continue lamenting. But put that on pause for a few minutes while we look at the September GB release of Egon Spengler (sans slime)!

WWE Legends, "Ravishing" Rick Rude - Review
Today we conclude "Foxy Ladies" week with someone who is NOT a lady, but he would believe himself to be a "fox". A WWE legend so despised by the male audience, whom he degraded regularly, yet the women in the stands went ga-ga for. After his matches one lucky gal would even get a kiss from the big stud. This lady-killing, piledriving machine is the "Ravishing One", Rick Rude.

Our first "Foxy Lady" review is a 2 for 1 special! We're looking at both Classic and Modern Cheetahs from DC Universe Classics' wave 13. The Buzz: Matty Sale, September
By now, I'm sure many of you know today is Matty's monthly sale day. There's the giant green and yellow battle gorilla from MotUC and Cheif Carnivus, to figures I have no interest in. I do, however, need me an Egon figure to FINALLY complete my GB team (albeit with a soiled Venkman), but it seems there is some hold up on the website. Odd, right?!
Anyway it's fast approaching 1:00pm in my sector of the globe and I still haven't gotten through to the order screen. Is it really this difficult with only three items available today? Will Egon sell out before I can order one? Are people still buying Ghostbuster figures?!
Thanks Mattel.

Dick Tracy, Itchy - Review
Hey all, it's Novelty again, from Toy A Day. Back there, I'm on Super Screened September, which basically means I'm opening toys that has links to both being a cartoon/animated series on TV and being a movie as well. The "tent pole" holding up the big top, or the main event of the month is Dick Tracy, and like all main events, there are some sideshows here and there. This is the sideshow here on Killer B Hive, and as usual, I try to pick something insect related. Are you itching to find out what it is? Swarm to find out more!

WWE Legends, The Road Warriors - Review
Mattel's WWE line has been really impressive so far. Between the current Superstars represented in the Elite Collection and classic grapplers in the Legends line I'm up to 24 figures already! Today we're looking at a couple of yesterday's most popular wrestlers: The Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal!

Hive News: Minor delays
Hello! I had a review lined up for today, however my internet connection's been down for almost a week and things have fallen behind. Not to worry, though, I was able to get a couple of fresh comics out to Lemonjuice McGee's "Hobo-toons" on his website and one is already up for your digestive pleasure!
Hopefully, I'll have my connection up and running by tomorrow night and will be able to update the blog with a new review!
Stay tuned!

Stinger Shots: Plastic Man
This may be hard to believe, but I just now got around to opening Plastic Man. You could say it was the recent influx of new toys, including Orko and Ministry of Darkness Undertaker, both of which sold alongside Plas on Matty's SDCC sale day, but you'd be wrong. It was for one reason and one reason alone...

WWE Legends, Iron Sheik - Review
In the 1980s & early 1990s, Pro-wrestling was populated with larger than life, and super-stereotyped, characters who were very clearly defined as the good guys or the bad guys. One of the most popular, or rather despised, bad guys was the Iron Sheik, who in fact was born in Iran and played up the stereotypical anti-American Iranian role excellently. Let's see if his first release in Mattel's WWE Legends line lives up to his legendary status as one of the all-time great heels in Pro-wrestling history.

Ghostbusters, "Ready to Believe You" Ray Stantz - Review
Mattel's 6" Ghostbusters Movie Masters takes a controversial detour with August's release. Is "Ready to Believe You" Ray Stantz (in lab coat!) worth the hassle and price of Matty Collector? Or is he an easy pass for GB fans? Let's find out!

Stinger Shots: Trap Jaw & Kronis
Finally! I finally have Trap Jaw! If you flip the calendar back to February, you'd find one very pissed off 3B. Pissed off because he couldn't get a Trap Jaw off of Digital River's craptastic server. Thankfully, TJ was reissued just 6 months later and this time, I was able to secure him.

WWE Legends, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka (Hall of Fame) - Review
Mattel released their first wave of WWE Legends just a couple of months ago, and series 2 is starting to hit retail now. In addition, they've released an exclusive "Hall of Fame" edition to be sold at, of all places, K-mart! The HoF series features four figures from the first wave and two from the second. Although the set is scheduled to be released on August 28th, my local K-mart already had most of them on the shelf when I visited a few days ago. I was able to snag two of them including today's subject: Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka!

UFC Deluxe, Brock Lesnar - Review
[It's been several weeks since my last review and while I wrote this one over a month ago, I wasn't able to photograph the figure until just yesterday. So pardon the delay and please enjoy today's review.]
In honor of Brock Lesnar's triumphant return to the Octagon, I've finally purchased a UFC figure from Jakks Pacific's new line and who better to start with than the man himself: Brock Lesnar!

The Buzz: Matty Sale
For many MotUC fans today is "Whiplash" day, but for me it's my second chance to score Trap Jaw, who I missed out on back in February. I'm happy to report that I successfully snagged him AND "Labcoat" Ray from the Ghostbusters line.
I'm really backed up with my reviews, but hope to cover at the very least the SDCC Undertaker and maybe Plastic Man before these new items come in.
Hope you were successful in your hunt today!

Transformers: Animated, Activators Bumblebee - Review
Hey y'all. It's Novelty again from Toy A Day. I'm still opening a toy for each day of the year and I'm at Animated August at the moment, which is an entire month dedicated to toys with an animated series or animated movie. Today I'm opening Transformers Bumblebee and I thought to myself, "Hey, I promised my friend 3B that I'll try to do insect related posts on his blog, and what better insect related toy do I have than Bumblebee?" OK, so Bumblebee isn't really an insect at all, but I'm not going to let such a small detail get in the way!

Lego 8519 Ben 10, Big Chill - Review
Howdy y'all. It's Novelty from Toy a Day, and I have this great priviledge of writing here in this great blog. I did promise 3B that my first review here will be something insectoid and I hope this is Insectoid enough, yet out of the box (haha! pun not intended).
But before I do that, lemme just introduce myself a little bit. I'm opening a toy for each day of 2010, and was originally posting just pictures online with my random thoughts on the toys just opened. That has since expanded into a full blown review, not only on Toy a Day, but I'm also guest blogging at various other blogs about the toys I'm opening. Including this one!

WWE Royal Rumble, Beth Phoenix - Review
Straight from this year's Royal Rumble event comes the Glamazon, Beth Phoenix. She's the second female figure I purchase from Mattel's new WWE lines after Mickie James. Mickie ended up as an arm-donor for my DCUC Wonder Woman. Will Beth end up the same?

Hive News: More New Stuff!
Holy cow! It was a great toy haul earlier today, er... I mean yesterday (it's already past midnight?!). Lots of new addtions to on-going lines, a line I just recently delve into and a line I hadn't touched.
Here's a break down by store:
Toys R Us
WWE Legends
Dusty Rhodes
Ricky Steamboat
K-Mart (seriously!)
Iron Man 2 Comic Series
Crimson Dynamo
Titanium Man
Hulkbuster Iron Man
Walmart
WWE Elite Big Show
UFC Brock Lesnar
I just finished the write up for that last figure and can't wait to post it as soon as I get the photos done. It's been a busy day for me and with San Diego Comic Con just over a week away, it seems it's going to be busy the rest of the month. No, I'm not attending (sadly), but in celebration of the biggest geek event of the year, I'll be reviewing two SDCC exclusives from my collection starting on Monday.
Stay tuned!

Iron Man 2 Comic Series, Iron Man #30 (Neo-Classic) - Review
Today, instead of just another edition of Killer B Comics, we also have a review! It may be somewhat late in the game for an Iron Man 2 review, but I think this is a benchmark figure for me. I have successfully avoided Hasbro's 3.75" scale lines since they debuted... until now. Why? SWARM to find out!

Hive News: New Stuff!
These just came in yesterday from Amazon and I hope to have them reviewed/displayed on the Hive soon:
Optimus Prime is one of my all time favorite characters and although I don't collect Transformers, I usually buy the Optimus Prime figure from any series. The last one I purchased was the Leader class Optimus from the first live-action movie, so I'm excited about this one!

Stinger Shots: Webstor
Today's Stinger Shots features Webstor, a Masters of the Universe character I'm not very familiar with, but is a cool addition to the "Classics" collection. He is a "Master of Escape" and so his ready for adventure anytime. His pictorial turned out to be an adventure on it's own, so this post is a Stinger Shots/Killer B Comics hybrid. Enjoy!

WWE Legends, Stone Cold Steve Austin - Review
If you were a fan of pro-wrestling in the late '90s, it was probably because of this man. The "Texas Rattlesnake" ushered in the "Attitude" era and made WWE not just the top pro-wrestling promotion in the world, but a juggernaut in the world of entertainment. That was roughly 10 years ago and while lots of things have changed in the WWE, Stone Cold is still a beloved personality. So does this figure live up to Austin's legacy?...

Witching Axe of Ruination (Doppelganger Version) - Review
Have you ever purchased an exclusive $20 action figure from an online retailer/manufacturer that makes purchasing said figure a torment beyond reason, then been upset after receiving that figure because it's sorely lacking in the accessory department? Ever wish there was someway to obtain additional accessories that weren't exactly like what all the other figures in the line have, but would still fit the character perfectly? Well, it looks like someone has granted your wish...

Hive News: Upcoming Reviews
June's been a busy month at the Hive: I made several new toy purchases, a few vintage figures, a couple of pre-orders, all while adding new comics and reviews every week.
Last Wednesday I received my Matty order for June. One of the figures, the Ghostbusters' Peter Venkman, was reviewed on Friday. The second figure, Faker from MotUC, won't be reviewed anytime soon, but he will be featured in an upcoming edition of "Stinger Shots" and play a part in a couple of Killer B Comics.
I also ordered some very cool accessories from Spy Monkey Creations, and those will be featured in several comics/Stinger Shots and get their own reviews very soon.
Here's a breakdown of upcoming action figure reviews on the Hive:
Spy Monkey Creations,
Emerald Energy - Spiral Beam
Emerald Energy - Flat Beam
Witching Axe of Ruination - Doppelganger Version
Indie Spotlight, Kabuki
WWE Royal Rumble, Beth Phoenix
WWE Legends, Stone Cold Steve Austin
WWE Legends, Sgt. Slaughter
And much more!
Lastly, in the next couple of weeks, you'll see the debut of the Killer B Hive's mascot! He's excited to get to work on the site as he's been out of action for a couple of decades, but he's ready to swarm!
Stay tuned!

DC Universe Classics, "Green Lantern: First Flight" Hal Jordan - Custom
Toys R Us has an exclusive deal set up with Mattel where they get repainted versions of the "All-Star" reissue DC Universe figures. So far this year we've seen Batman in black and grey deco with the large bat symbol on his chest while other retailers get the yellow oval logo. The latest of TRU's DCUC All-Star exclusives is a "modern" Green Lantern, but he ended up being an underwhelming release. However, that's always great motiviation for customizing!

Hive News: Live Events week!
This week promises to keep me entertained with a double dose of live "sports entertainment" events! Tonight I'm attending WWE RAW live at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL. I haven't attended RAW (or any other pro-wrestlingt event) in over 5 years. Tonight's event is scheduled to be a three-hour show and will include Superstars from both the Raw & Smackdown! brands. It will air on the USA network at 8:00pm, EST.
Later in the week, on Thursday night, I'm attending the Bellator Fighting Championships XXI event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. I'm not sure which network, if any, will air this event or if it will exclusive to PPV. This is the first real MMA event I attend, so I'm excited to see how it goes.

The Buzz: Green Lantern Movie Masters
Superherohype.com is reporting that Mattel will indeed release a line of Green Lantern Movie Masters to tie-in with next year's Green Lantern film. No other details have been released, but I'm sure we'll know more after San Diego Comic Con. I'm excited as hell! I love GL and I'm confident this will keep the "Movie Masters" line going for all DC movies. Hopefully that means we will finally get a Gordon or Ra's figure with the release of the next Batman film in Christopher Nolan's epic series.

Currently on Display: June 2010
New month, new display! Previously, I mentioned that I switch up my displays every month, but I don't always have a chance to do that and many times the display sits on the shelf for much longer than a month. Yesterday I finished arranging my main display shelf using a lot of the figures I hadn't been able to display, yet.

DC Universe Classics, Wonder Woman - Custom
A couple of days ago I stopped at Toys R Us on my way to work hoping to find the reissued Green Lantern 2pk and WWE Beth Phoenix or Mickie James. I found the 2pk and Mickie James. She was cool and all, but I was curious to see her muscular arms on a DCUC figure that was in desperate need of some big guns...

Hive News
I'm currently working on reviews for Iron Man 2 6" figures and WWE Elite series, up soon should be a review for the Mark VI and The Undertaker, repectively. Also, new installments of "Killer B Comics" will debut every Monday and Friday until I run out of ideas. Today's will be an extra special, "holiday" sized comic!
A special thank you to all who gave their life in defense of the freedom we enjoy today. Thank you! God bless America and happy Memorial Day!

The Buzz: Green Lantern 5-pack
Today is the debut of "The Buzz" at Killer B Hive, where the focus will be (weekly?) news and previews for all things nerdy. For this installment I'm previewing the upcoming GL 5pk. I subscribe to ToyFare magazine and received the latest issue a few days ago, although I wasn't able to look through it until last night...

Hive News
I just came back from watching Iron Man 2 (finally!) and I'm thinking of writing a review on it. Let's see how that goes... I'm riding a high after posting my first ever action figure review. My goal is to have at least 1 toy review a week and maybe throw in a movie/comic/whatever review for good measure. Stay tuned!

WWE Entrance Greats, Triple H - Review
I stopped following pro-wrestling around 2005 and only returned to it this past January. What brought me back? It was a combination of things, but I can say for certain, Mattel's new action figures were a big part of it. Let's take a look at my first purchase from the new WWE toylines.

Hive News: Name Change
I went with a name change because the previous name was really long and I felt it limited the blog to just my "creations." I wanted a name (and address) that was a bit shorter and opened up the blog to pretty much anything I want to post. For the most part the focus will be on collecting action figures. That includes customs and comics I create and reviews, which I'm trying to get started on. But I also want to discuss comics, movies, TV, and combat sports among other things. So I hope you join me and chime in on a regular basis. Let's have fun!

Hive News
I'm currently working on my first ever action figure review. It's proving to be quite time comsuming, maybe I'm writing too much. I'm not sure on the format I want to use. I don't want to make it too long, but I don't want to miss anything either. Hopefully, I'll have it done and posted by the end of the week. Stay tuned!

Welcome!
Hello! Welcome to "Killer B Creations"! My own little spot on the world wide web. On this site I hope to share my opinions on all things I love relating to entertainment and my hobbies. What are those things? Well, for starters, I love superheroes! I'm a huge fan of DC, Marvel and several other smaller publishing houses. I have a large collection of comic books although I don't actively collect them now. I still try to pickup as many graphic novels and storylines as I can. Mainly the bigger event stories. Also, I was roughly 10 years old when the whole superhero trading card craze started up in the early '90s, so over time I completed several card collections which I keep in my living room bookcase.
Said bookcase is also populated by my favorite of all collectibles: action figures! I couldn't even say how many I have, but I could guess-timate upwards of 300. Too many to display at once, so I break up my display into two areas which usually follow separate themes for a month or so, and then I change them up. It keeps my displays from getting stale and provides an "art gallery" feel to my home (at least that's what I tell my wife).
Anyway, enough about me! It's time to upload some photos and start blogging. You'll be able to learn more about my interests by following the blog and feel free to jump in and join in the topics discussed.
Thanks!
